Chryshotel

The hotel was clean and friendly although very dated and very small. I have stayed in much nicer places closer to the centre for a lot less money. The location is very poor - it is off a main road not in practical walking distance anywhere of note. We hired a car and used it extensively - the recommended bars and restaurants and shops are a drive or taxi away. The room was tiny and no indiviual shower, just a bath with a shower attachment. We had asked for a twin room but were given a double - fortunately I was staying with my sister so this wasn't too difficult. However the room was tiny, obviously hadn't been decorated for several years and was impractical. I would not recommend this hotel unfortunately but not due to the staff - just location, size, decor and facilities. Indeed, I am suprised this was a 3 star hotel - more like 1-2 star.

We expected the hotel to be somewhat closer to the train station than, in fact, it is/ Just a bit too far to walk with luggage, etc., and up a couple of flights of stairs beside and behind the station. We ended up taking a taxi to the hotel. However the hotel itself is peaceful and quiet, with lounge and dining built around a wonderfully inviting pool. Rooms, too, are spotlessly clean, with their own tiny courtyards and very well outfitted bathrooms. With luggage out of the way we also found the hotel ideally located for prowling around the old town and the Antibes side harbour (but quite some distance from the beaches.) All in all a terrific value for the price and ideal for a short stays - say 2 or 3 days.
