I found the accomodation fit for purpose at the price paid. However the staffing level at departure was totally inadequate with only one person having to cope with all guests for breakfast and booking out. She was obviously under great pressure although she did cope well and was very courtious and considerate to all requirements of both my party of guests and others staying. The food was of a good standard. The hotel is somewhat rundown and would need a substancial cash injection to bring it to a better standard. I appreciate that this is a very old building and the staff have obviously done a good job in maintaining it in a clean condition. The rooms were clean and comfortable however there were some problems with the electrics which left some without some lights or a shower. |

Nice hotel, right in the middle of the village. Sadly this meant there was a temprary fairground outside our window on the night we were there, but this had finished by the time we were wanting to sleep, so not a big deal. |

The hotel is old and we expected to make allowances for this. But the rooms were certainly leaving a lot to be desired in cleanliness, they were very basic, carpets everywhere were badly stained. I would not even shower. The TV didn't work. On the other hand the food was excellent, although we tried to imagine a clean kitchen produced it. There certainly needs some upgrading to be done, or even some claning would help. Not the best to say the least! |
