The people were very nice and welcoming. Our room was nice but small, they need to sort out the creaky headboards and it would be nice to have a real double bed, not to disappear down the crack in the middle in the night. Also, we could hear it when the room next door flushed the loo. The local pub served nice food, but quite small portions. It was very uncomplicated, tension free stay and the service was excellent, the girl who greeted us and served us breakfast could not have done more. The breakfast tables were a bit close together, perhaps a little too 'cosy' in that regard. Overall, I definitely would not say that it is not what I would expect a four star hotel to be, however it was reasonably priced and a lovely stay. |

Not an easy place to find in all of those country lanes but well worth it when you do. Really friendly staff and a pleasant place to stay. It is nicely situated, close enough to Hertford for a pleasant drive in and far enough out to be quiet and peaceful. Some really nice local pubs situated nearby also. I would recommend and I will be staying again when I am in the area next. |

Cobwebs on the kettle implies that the cleaning requires to be more thorough. |
