Terrible hotel. Tiny, old fashioned (apparently refurbished) room. Rude receptionist wouldn't answer my question, which was: "Why have I paid LateRooms £75 for this room, when it's clearly marked here as a £65 room?". She ignored me and took the cash anyway! The Glass in my bathroom was really dirty, looked like it had some milk in it about 2 years ago that hadn't been washed away. I've stayed in a lot of rough hotels in Asia and Africa and this is in my top 5. |

There are better budget hotels at the same price, personally although I haven't anything awful to say I didn't enjoy the stay and there was nothing about the hotel to make me want to stay there again. Breakfast wasn't very nice. On a positive note it's very convenient to paddington if this is important and the road isn't as busy as some in London. Check out process is manual and slow. |

My wife and I have stayed elsewhere in the Sussex Gardens area and this is now our preferred hotel. Situated on a fairly quiet street in a generally noisy neighborhood (near Paddington Station and St Mary's Hospital), we find its central location quite convenient. Although our room was small (but perhaps not by London standards), it was quite clean and reasonably well-appointed. The bed was comfortable, the water was hot, and the tiny bathroom squeezed in all the essentials. For we who spend most of our waking day away from the hotel room, this provided more than adequate accommodations. As for breakfast, it is plentiful and nourishing but quite plain. Wireless broadband is a nice touch (although there are internet cafes nearby), as is the lift. And if it matters to you, the manager is hardly the soul of affability but the rest of the staff is quite friendly. As London budget hotels go, this seems a solid choice. |
