The staff were very helpful and sorted out a problem we had with the room when we arrived. We had requested a twin but got given a double. We were told it wasn't a certainty that you get your request when you book which I was surprised about (not everyone wants to share!) and the twin room was bigger. It did mean however, that the new room was on the street and noisier- the hotel's on a busy square with traffic - on the map I thought it was a pedestrian area. It had all the facilities we needed though like tea making stuff and a mini bar etc and bath/shower/nice little toiletries in the bathroom. Everything was really clean and for me this is the most important thing. Location wise the hotel's in a great spot and we ate out in a fantastic homely restaurant down towards the Tuilieries called L'Ardoise, so only had a short walk back after. When we booked the pound was stronger against the euro than it is at present so the whole cost of the hotel (and everything else!) was expensive. Paris is looking beautiful this time of year though and all the lights everywhere make it very magical. |

The room was small, as expected, with a closet for hanging clothes but no draws which meant living out of the suitcases. Other than that, everything was great. The staff was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, assistance with electrical adapters and directions for getting places using the Metro, which is just across the street. Great area - 5 minute walk to Tuilleries and Place Concord and of course the Madeleine Church is right there. If you need to take cabs (as we did), it's about 6 Euros to the Eiffel Tower, The Arc de Triumphe or Notre Dame. It was all good... |
