We were disappointed in the room, it was clean but tired looking, I think it must have been decorated about 15 years ago. There was no bath in the bathroom but there was plenty of hot water in the bathroom. Our biggest complaint however was that the majority of the hotels income must come from the wedding market. On the two nights we stayed there wedding functions going on. We paid for a superior room but it was located directly above the function room where a disjocky played on into the night the noise was at a high level, also there was lots of running and shouting goning on in the corrdors outside our room. If we thought that was bad there was worse to come the following evening when a live band and karrioke played. The floor of our room vibrated with the noise. We did complain at 110clock but we were met with an unsympathetic shrug and told it would finish at 12. When we checked out nobody even bothered to ask us if we had enjoyed our stay. We were left in no doubt that we were just the small change end of their business. Fortunatley the good bus service that ran just outside the hotel into Edinburgh helped us to enjoy our stay ( and visit the sights and good eaterys) as parking in the city was difficult |

Potentially a great hotel - wonderful views over Edinburgh - but now shabby and down-at-heel. Could do with a make-over! Room not very clean round the edges. Think they must cater for a lot of one-night coach parties and weddings so guests are not around for long enough to complain! |

Allocated a very nice room from the booking. Excellent bistro/pub on the premises for early supper, bustling, rather than main dining room which looked v pleasant, elegant, and was busier later. |
