Have stayed here several times but on this occasion there seemed to be a lack of management leadership. Tables left uncleared, restaurant service erratic, with some customers waiting 40 minutes to receive any table service, and ourselves only getting service by prompting waiting staff. Breakfast the following day was an even bigger disaster than dinner. The breakfast room was in chaos, all tables uncleared, very limited offer on the buffet and nothing was replenished ie muesli, plain yoghurt. fruit juice. One waitress struggling to cope and receiving no other help. Cooked breakfast when it arrived was very acceptable and the bedroom was fine. On this occasion the food, beverage and reception, (which was unmanned and took some to find a member of staff to check us in) let the hotel down badly and we would think twice before staying again. In years past this hotel had always pleased us but what on earth has happened of late? |

We really enjoyed our time at the hotel, the staff were absolutely fabulous and were able to arrange a continental breakfast for us in our room on the Sunday as we had to leave before the restaurant was open. |

I enjoyed my night's stay at The Grosvenor Hotel. The location was very pretty with a few pubs an Indian and a Chinese to choose from if you don't want to eat dinner at the hotel. The breakfast at the hotel was delicious, really tasty and too much for me to eat! They seemed a little bit short staffed although those that were there were friendly and the room was a little bit tired but clean and comfortable with a view of the garden. At the discount rate I was really happy with my stay. |

Having stayed at the Grosvenor many times previously, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room. It was located at the back of the hotel and was thus not subjected to the constant noise from the busy road at the front of the hotel. The bar food was satisfactory, the breakfast was very good, except that guests were expected to make their own tea - not what one would expect from a hotel of this standard. Staff were friendly and attententive. |
