This hotel was quite an old building with lots of character, however it is very well maintained and the staff were more than helpful. It is very well located for visiting all the attractions of central london, a 5minute leisurely walk to oxford circus underground station. 7mins walk to hamleys toy shop. Pub on the corner 1min walk. |

This was my first stay at the Astor Court Hotel (Room 19). I am a regular hotel visitor on my business travels and found that the self certified 3* status for this hotel was about right. The public areas were furnished to a reasonable standard although there was some carpet ware on the stairs. There was also a slight odour in the upstairs landing ( a bit like paint or varnish) but this was no where near bad as some hotels that I have had the miss-fortune of staying in. The room was comprised of 3 separate rooms for with a living / bed and bathroom all separated and was nicly decorated. There were some areas of the black-mould typically found in hotel bathrooms, but again I have experienced far worse. Breakfast comprised of a continental offering with a selection of cereal, croissant's, danishes, yoghurts, toast, preserves, selection of juices and tea/coffee all available. I paid between £99 and £115 per night via late rooms which for this hotels location and standard I consider to be excellent value and will definately use again if my usual choice of hotels are full. |
