The Maytime Inn - Glorious country Inn

The Maytime Inn, Asthall between Witney & Burford

The Maytime Inn is settled deep in the heart of the Cotswolds. The traditional inn is built in the Windrush Valley with the Windrush river flowing just a small stones throw away. The Cotswold area being an allocated area of “Outstanding Natural Beauty” is the ideal area for walkers and explorers looking for quiet breaks and long weekends. This modern accommodation offers six cosy, well appointed and equipped bedrooms, all en-suite, each having TV, radio alarm and tea/coffee making facilities. Each bedroom is tastefully fitted with handmade furniture and Cotswold style soft furnishings to complete the setting. The Maytime has recently had a £250,000 refurbishment and was reopened by David Cameron. Remember when in the Cotswold, eat well, drink merrily and sleep peacefully in the Courtyard bedrooms.

Really nice hotel with friendly people, good service and excellent food which was not too pricey. Only stayed 1 night, but made a nice impression.

We decided to stay for a weekend with my in-laws from Canada. Having travelled extensively, I have very high expectations of hotels and I can happily say that I was not disappointed! What a superb find this was. The village of Asthall is beautifull and the inn is charming, cosy and clean. The room has TV and hospitality tray and the meals were tasty and amongst a wonderful atmosphere. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice relaxing peaceful time in a most wonderful setting.

This is a hidden high class gem of a hotel/pub in the Cotswolds and very handy for Oxford. Friendly experienced staff and exceptional food plus service.
Would recommend to anyone and will be staying again ourselves. The owners have been there over 30 years which says a lot in itself.

Do not believe everything you read in other reviews of this venue!! The facilities in the room were poor and the room its self small. The service in the restaurant was unbelievably slow and disorganised and the food nothing special. Overall this was not good value for money and we will not be going back.
