Pavillon Monceau Palais des Congrès

I don't know who gave this hotel 3 stars but they certainly didn't stay in room 7. The duplex was a decent size but the furniture & decor are in need of repair and updating. We were confronted by bare lightbulbs, blood stained pillows with no covers, dirty bathroom and a sofabed that just smelt. The location in Paris was fine, the staff were friendly and helpful but the standard of accomodation and the cleanliness / condition of the room just wasn't acceptable. I would not stay here again

Location of hotel was not the best with people drinking in surrounding streets and doorways every night of our 5 night stay. (Clearly not the hotels fault) My girlfriend commented she would be unhappy coming and going on her own at night. In the hotel itself, the bed was basically a glorified fold down bed and we both found it to be uncomfortable. The TV consists of 6 channels of French programs with an option to watch hotel TV at an additional charge of 12 euros per day. Room/bathroom very cramped in my opinion and the shower ran out of hot water one morning. TV is also wall mounted and if you are of average male height you will have no trouble banging your head of it, as I did. Breakfast is served in the basement in a very cramped room. Plus points were fresh towels and bed made every day and the staff were always friendly and courteous.

Basically very good value.
