On arrival our room was not ready so the receptionist invited us to have a complimentary drink in the bar, which was much appreciated, however the room was not ready so we were given another room. I have to say the room was ok but that's about it. The toilet seat was probably as old as the hotel and was very loose. The toilet bowl was disgustingly brown as though it had not been cleaned for a while. We ate in the bar on the first night and I had what was supposedly a pepper steak which I asked for medium. It came well done and was so very dry. The chef said it was Scottish and cooked the way I asked which was complete nonsense. |

shower in room very poor, head wasn't attached to wall, water only trickled. No table for us at breakfast. Were squeezed in to a corner, with no chairs, cutlery or crockery and then forgotten about until we had to ask waitress to take our order. No toilet roll in restaurant toilets!! |

The food was reasonable for both breakfast and evening meal. It was the accomodation that let the hotel down. |

Hotel rather hidden but well worth searching for. Fantastic grounds, ideal for walks and family romps. Lovely old bar, well stocked. The menus looked inviting but we were having a set meal (wedding reception) so cannot comment on it. The reception food was excellent, well-presented and good quality. Would certainly stay here again if visiting the area. |
