Farnham House Hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff.

Nice quiet location, beautiful grounds and house. Nice reception staff, friendly welcome, good clean room.
The only downside was the restaurant, it seemed to be running on a skeleton staff, with no real management to be seen. I didn't bother with dinner because of this. Breakfast was fairly casual - the room could seat about 30, there were only around 4 people having breakfast when I was there and one lady was waiting for 25 minutes for a poached egg. It seems to be the standard these days but the only options were £9 for a continental or 12 for a full English, no matter what you chose, so a bit expensive for just cereal and coffee. No cold meats were provided despite it being listed on the menu. The food wasn’t bad itself but I didn’t try the evening meals.
All in all a nice place to stay and maybe there were some staff shortages when I stayed so the food might improve.

The room was clean, comfortable and in a convenient location.

For the price teh decor was ages, there was no air conditioning, and on a warm day the radiators in the room had been left on. There were unknown stains on the bead sread, although these were not discovered till I was about to sleep.
The service in the restaurant was awful, my wine arrived ina chipped glass and the vegetables with the meal were overcooked and had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for to long. The steak I ordered rare and came well done and when I complained nothing was offered to be done about it.
Very disapointed, avoid.
