We stayed with friends and asked for a tea in bar for 8 people. We were served one teapot for 7 people with no extra hot water, no biscuits and were charged £14, a very expensive teabag!! I think this was extortionate even if someone had to boil a kettle specially surely it doesn't cost that much!

Stayed in December 2007 as my daughter was having her wedding reception here. Those guests booking the special wedding rate direct with the hotel paid about twice the price available through Late Rooms - which makes the wedding rate 'special' for all the wrong reasons!!
Total mix up at the hotel with rooms - some rooms were given to 2 separate sets of guests, other guests were given the wrong rooms, i.e. those requesting twin rooms were given double beds which is a little awkward when you are sharing with a friend, and sometimes a friend of a different gender. As parents of the bride we did not officially check in until after the reception and they had changed our room to one which was so small that we could not both stand up in it at the same time!!!!!!
Reception food was good, breakfast the following morning was served in the reception room so extended the wedding celebrations which was also good. Wedding planner useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of things which were supposed to be included in the wedding package missing such as printed table plan, printed personised menus, printed place name cards etc. You would have more success finding the Scarlett Pimpernel and she disappears as soon as the wedding party arrives.

The building and grounds were impressive but the hotel itself was very poor. I stayed in a single room which was so small that I had to move the chair each time I wanted to cross the room. The temperature control of the shower was on a knife edge and lurched between cold and scalding hot with no warning. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up, which being male is very important.
There was a restaurant and a bar where food could be ordered, but there were seldom any staff available. It took me twenty five minutes to finally place my order, despite going to the reception twice to ask for some service.
All in all a poorly managed hotel
