Directions to Ivy Bank
FROM THE SOUTH Travelling north on the M6, leave the motorway at junction 36, turn left and follow the A591 to Windermere - this takes about 25 minutes. When you reach the village turn left in front of the National Westminster Bank. Follow the one-way system downhill, along Crescent Road, past the Co-op Welcome supermarket and then take the first turning left into Broad Street. Go to the end of Broad Street and turn right into Woodland Road. Then take the first right into Holly Road. Ivy Bank is the 4th house on the left. FROM THE NORTH Travelling South on the M6 the most interesting route is to leave the motorway at junction 40 near Penrith and take the A66 towards Keswick. At the next roundabout follow the signs for the A592 which you stay on for about 40 minutes. (If you see the sign for Aira Force on the right and you have time, there is a beautiful walk up to the waterfall). After going over the Kirkstone Pass and coming down the Troutbeck Valley you reach the A591 at a small roundabout. Turn left here. After about half a mile take a right turn in front of the 'Rockside' Guest House, this takes you into Windermere village centre. You come onto the one-way system and once you have passed the Co-op Welcome supermarket take the first left turn into Broad Street. Go to the end of Broad Street and turn right into Woodland Road. Then take the first right into Holly Road. Ivy bank is the 4th house on the left.

Apart from all the fsctors sbove which I rate as a 6 on the high scale, the hotel also had a facility where we could use a local health club which made our stay even more fantastic. Highly recommended place to stay. |
