First impressions were that the hotel was in need of a facelift we asked for hot food when we arrived at 3pm but only cold food available until 6.30pm, breakfast good but service poor. The bar lacked any ambiance not many guests about and the piano was wildly out of tune souded like Les Dawson, the sherry was sour and from an almost empty bottle perhaps old |

Location is excellent and the room we had a little viewing lounge un-suite and was just perfect. The food was good and decently priced. Now the bad bits. Advertised 24 hour snack service, though when we requested a simple beef sandwich came as a un edible disaster so it went back ( we may just have been a little unlucky with the porter staff on this occasion) Agreed we did come down for breakfast towards the end of service. The restaurant was full of tables uncleared of crockery and had to clear a table ourselves to be seated. (maybe a little more emphasis on presentation required) Setting aside these two little problems the hotel is excellent, would recommend and are looking forward to stopping again in October sometime. |
