Hotel President Firenze

This hotel is a joke. We arrived there for our honeymoon and our face dropped, the photos must be computer generated. It appeared as though the rooms haven`t been decorated for 40 years. It smelt of cabbage but appeared clean, the receptionist took pity on us and found an alternative hotel off her own back after admitting the hotel was very poor. We didn`t stay long enough for food, we were told they were full but we saw one other guest.
This hotel is nearer 2 star than 4 star as advertised.
I would NOT reccomend this hotel

I have travelled to Florence many times and stayed in many different hotels. This was a first time for this hotel and I would not be inclined to look anywhere else in future. It is just out of the city centre and relatively quiet but still has good accessibility to the centre. The breakfast buffet was good (no evening meals) and the top floor (front) rooms have balconies with an excellent view over Florence. My colleague had a room at the rear with no view but nevertheleas said he would return there in future and not bother looking for anywhere else.

Hotel is in a very peaceful location,on the outskirts of Florence ( a 30 minute walk into the centre) there is no noise ,it is a peaceful location thus a good nights sleep is guarenteed The majority of the hotels of all star groups in the centre they will suffer from traffic and other noise
The view from the main hotel balconey is excellent,,sit outside and chill out
Although located a distance away from the centre there are several restaurants a 5 minute walk away ,the advantage of being in the outskirts is that these restaurants offer a better meal& price than those in the tourist traps./
The breakfast buffet is very welcome ,but is European thus there are no hot items no toast, eggs or sausages etc, you are after all abroad, if only they could offer a cooked breakfast.......
In My room I had a very comfortable giant (at leat queen sized) bed, sheets towels etc all regulary changed.
Value for money is difficult to determine by UK standards Florence can be expensive...so good value at a fair price for what is a costly city..........NB cheaper hotels are available but the trade off will be in the quality of rooms & facilities
The Hotel felt secure there was a room safe and the location meant that you could walk about without any worries
