The charming Pilgrim Country House Hotel is situated in the sleepy village of Much Birch just 8 miles from Ross-on-Wye and 7 miles from Hereford. Most bedrooms have beautiful views across the Golden Valley toward Wales. The cosy beamed bar has a roaring fire in winter and the new conservatory opens out onto a raised decking area looking out over the beautiful views in the summer. The restaurant serves tasty snacks at lunchtime and delicious candlelit dinners in the evening.

Loved the hotel and the customer service was very good indeed. The room was very nice but we were glad of the additional heater as we stayed in December. Only had two minor gripes, and I'm being VERY picky here. Though there was a curtain-rail in bathroom there was no curtain only nets, it would have been nice to shut out the cold (and for modesty's sake as we were on the ground floor). Secondly, the food was nice but expensive especially as we only had a typical bar meal. Breakfast buffet was great with a wide choice. We loved the place and hope to return at some point.

really enjoyed our stay. Room was excellent staff very helpful, an assistant manager who just did his job so well, remebering us and our room and advising on meals etc.
The food was very good, must have a very good chef. Our first meal was 3 courses with friends who just came for dinner and it was perfect. On our second night we ordered meals to eat in the bar, but as there was space in the restaurant we were offerered a table in the restaurant again. All in all a lovely hotel with attentive proffesional staff, we will definately stay again, Thanks.

The room we were given was slightly small, but the views compensated for that.
The food was exceptionally good and would go out of my way to eat there, when on business, again.
