Very convenient location in the middle of the city and easy to reach car park. Room was clean and nicely presented. Breakfast was delicious and all staff were friendly. Overall a good stay, only one point for improvement- it is quite annoying that the chambermaid kept knocking on the door in the morning to see if we were in there so she could clean- surely she should find out from reception who has departed and who hasn't to avoid disturbing you.

the room was in the middle of the hotel. It looked out via an internal window to the stairs and the gym. Had to close the curtains for privacy. Windows did not open room extremely hot. The room was well furnished as was the bathroom. No doubt other rooms would have been far better. Just a bad room and they were fully booked. Great central location

A substantial City centre hotel in an almost perfect position.Rooms slightly old fashioned, but this is not really a problem. The food on Sunday evening left something to be desired.Overall a pleasant relaxing place to stay with good helpful staff.

Customer service was quite good overall, quick room service. On the whole the room was clean, although there were blood stains on the bedding. The room was alrite, average size and quite dark but comfortable. As for breakfast, the buffet style would be brilliant if the staff worked together - there were not enough tables which meant people were waiting to be seated for around 15 mins. Then when you get a table there is a wait for any food to be available on the hot plate, the worst for me was asking 3 different waiters for tea and taost and still not recieving any at all.

First thing if mobile access is important to you check first. When I arrived the original room did not have a signal and it states in the info that this can be an issue. This was very important to me for various reasons. However the staff were very helpful and changed my room.... which as well as not having a signal was very claustrophobic just big enough for the double bed and looked over a flat roof.
The new room. Little balcony which is nice. Cleanliness- stain behind the bedside table looked as if someone had spilt a drink. Stain on seat small stains on the coverlet. There was black mildew in the shower. Also a problem with the plumbing which gave an airlock howl for approx 4 mins each time I flushed the toilet. The shower was fixed at a rigid left hand angle so that I could not get a comfortable shower not what I expect from a so called 3 Star hotel.
The room was cold and the quilt not warm enough (even with my own hot water bottle I was still cold) - again the staff were excellent and brought me a 2nd quilt very quickly and fixed the radiator. Very helpful and cheerful
Breakfast was included in the rate and I took advantage of the service of a continental breakfast in my room (you complete the order and leave on your door) – time is allocated in 15 minute slots. However it was 45 minutes late. Tea or Coffee Good Yoghurt Soggy Croissant, Orange Juice, Cornflakes and Milk Soggy toast. (I like cold toast but it needs to be served in a toast rack)Separate Butter and spread, Small Raspberry Danish, small pots of apricot & black current jam. Excellent value but spoilt by the soggy toast and croissant.
Good Wardrobe space. Includes your own safe which is a good idea. Internet access extra but available, £1 Connection fee for 0800 tel no’s and some other numbers. Only one double electric socket which is not enough to use laptop, kettle phone charger and other necessities of the 21st Century. Small Kettle with coffee tea milk and plain Biscuits
Television only had terrestrial channels - Not even Freeview
Facilities include gym and restaurant and cafe food looked OK. 24 Hour room service and good menu to order for the room
Parking is first come first served. If you don't get a space you have to pay. I believe this is £2 an hour but not certain. Overall this was a huge disappointment I was travelling on very stressful business and hoped to ease this with a quality hotel. I booked an offer though Late rooms so I paid £155 which is far too much for the poor quality. Book price was £300 I think that I would have refused to pay if I had been on full rate.
This hotel presumably has 3 Stars due to the extras. The problem is that is ignores the basics. Before gyms I look for a warm clean room, with efficient plumbing and enough electrics. The reception staff was excellent. But I would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.
