Booked a double room. Stated this on confirmation email from late rooms. On arrival at hotel we were told that our room was a twin room and this was due to late rooms small print. No appology made or compensation offered. We asked if anything could be done and were told in 5-10 min room would "be made into a double". After waiting in teh room for an hour no -one came, and the pool was due to close so we went for a swim and complained at reception that nothing had been done. Promised room would be sorted for us. Told then that we were not able to eat in hotel because hotel was too busy. We had to walk 15 min into inveraray centre to get an excellent meal at the (anchor inn?). We arrived back at hotel early to get an early night (we were planning on diving the following morning) and found that the 2 singl ebeds had been pushed together carelessly, but they were 3" different in heght. They still had single duvets. Eventually after complaining again a double duvet was suppied. We went to bed but were woken at 2 am by loud music being played downstairs at the bar. This continued until 3:30am when I contacted reception and the music was immediatley turned down - but still audible in the room. We were told breakfast was 7-9am but in fact it was 8 to 10am. It comprised of luke warm congealed self service buffet and cold toast. Not at all impressed. Eventually after many complaints were were offered a 25% discount on the room rate. We were both shattered from not getting enough sleep and will not be staying here in the future.

THe public areas of the hotel could do with new carpets and later opening of the dining room and spa would have been enjoyed.

Avoid room 312, scratching noises from above all night!!
No lounge food at 7.00pm so we booked dinner in the restaurant. The salmon was superb, two huge fillets each with perfectly cooked veg.
Good leisure facilities but really busy off season

I arrived at this hotel quite late in the evening and was checked in by a friendly receptionist who gave me lots of info including use of the leisure club. She did fail to mention though that the restaurant was about to close in 20 mins despite all posters in the hotel showing 10pm as the closing time. Due to this I carried on with unloading my car in preparation for a meeting I was hosting next day when I would obviously have gone to eat instead. The man who opened up the meeting room for me did offer to get me a sandwich instead but I declined and had to go to the local chip shop to get a hot meal.
I have rated the food quite low but would like to say that breakfast was excellent but the set lunch for my meeting was very poor.
