A fine Georgian independently run hotel dating back to 1823. Situated in the beautiful Berkshire countryside with spectacular gardens overlooking the River Loddon. Individually designed en-suite accommodation. 3 miles from Reading City centre, 40 minutes from London Heathrow Airport. Friendly and attentive service.

More like a country house hotel about 20 mins from Reading (? 3 miles). Quiet when we stayed so excellent attention from staff. Lovely grounds, good food, nice view from room 10-spacious room. Log fires in comfy lounge bar and dining room, which also has lovely garden views - ideal bird watching.

Excellent - thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay in this relaxing hotel. My bedroom was quietly situated, as I had requested, and comfortable overlooking the back garden (where sipping a glass of wine before dinner was a lovely way to unwind after a busy day!) Food was of good quality and attractively presented. Staff were friendly and attentive.
I will happily stay here again.

Helpfull and polite staff. Room although adequate was in need of complete refresh, which was the only reason i would not stay here again.
