Nice enough hotel (although we were in the annexe) seems popular with the older genration. Four course TDH dinner for an extra £12 pp was very good value. Service very efficient throughout. Bit old fashioned in that you cant sit where you want in the restaurant so we had a pillar table for dinner and had to have the same table for breakfast, meaning we were unable to see any views but apart from that it was ok! |

My wife and I first visited this hotel several years ago and had happy memories because of the friendly staff and great location. It is only 200 yards from the village ( which can get very busy ) yet is delightfully peaceful because of the large garden. It also has glorious views over the lake and surrounding hills. This time our room was in the self contained annexe which meant a very short walk for meals, but the room was large and well appointed. The tradition of serving canapes with pre-dinner drinks still continues and the meals were as good as ever. The restaurant does not aim for haute cuisine but offers good quality food which attracts many regular visitors. At the time of our visit many were "senior citizens", but there was a very happy atmosphere and this is an ideal hotel for a relaxing break. |
