When my wife arrived she was told to put our luggage in a side room and to wait as our room was not ready: at no point was she told where she could get refreshments or informed as to how long the wait would be. When I arrived, about half an hour later, the booking in time had already passed but we were still informed that the room was not ready. After informing the receptionist that I had to get changed and head off for a meeting we were eventually given fairly inadequate directions to our room.
The room smelled of air freshener, was dark, and wallpaper was peeling off - we were unimpressed especially as we had paid for an upgrade to a 'Superior' room.
Whilst I was out my wife ordered room service for herself and for me when I returned. The omelette was tough, the chips were hard and so were the peas. She had also ordered a toasted sandwich; this was cold when it arrived. The baguette she ordered for me was hard and the cheese smelled 'off'. My wife placed the trays outside of the room and they were still there when we checked out the following morning.
At breakfast we were left to wander around looking for a table, no-one told us whether we should get our own breafast or if we should wait to be served: the waitresses just stood around looking at the customers, pleasant enough but not helpful. The breakfast itself was poor.
We were glad to leave. It then transpired that we needed a code to exit the car park: when I got out of the car and went back to reception the person there asked me why I hadn't taken the cade from the pot - my response was that as this was the first (and last) time of staying there, how was I to know? Her response was to shrug and get back to her paperwork.
Having stayed in other places in the Gravesend area we were disappointed in the whole experience at The Manor, from start to finish it was as at best mediocre and at worst poor service and standards. It is not worth the price and I would recommend staying at the Premier Lodge in Gravesend (The Woodlands) rather than here anyday - half the price, cleaner rooms, better service and better food.
This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a review for any of the places I've stayed at which have been disappointing - this place takes the prize for getting me so cross as to feel the need to do so.
Avoid it.

Easy to get to from the A2 as long as you leave at the right junction. (Better directions on the website needed!) i might suggest you go easy on the air fresheners in the rooms. A little too strong!
