Complete away from it all break. Beautiful location, lovely grounds and well maintained. Private beach was disappointingly littered with rubbish, but thats the nature of a windy Autumn, and didn't detract from the whole experience. Although we didnt take evening meal at the Hotel, other guests told us what gastronomical delight it was! Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice and superb service. We were able to take our dog and he was made very welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean, the bed wonderfully comfortable, and furnishings and outlook were perfect. We are very happy to highly recommend the Hotel, and hope to return sometime.

Beautifully remote location. Wild seas and majestic skies. Truly romantic. Our main reason for visiting this hotel was for the food, (we live 40 miles away) and we were not disappointed. Several well planned courses based on QUALITY rather than quantity. Each morsel was a delight. We took ages over the meal savouring every mouthful. It would have been cosier to have the dining room fire lit, but as we were the only ones to dine I can understand their reluctance. However the drawing room had a real fire for after dinner drinks and petit four. The bedroom was OK, but not, we feel, worth the full price. Extras like morning and afternoon tea are charged for at £2.50 per person.

The staff, service, and food were sublime. The access road, hotel, and room were enchanting. The lawns, beach, and ambiance were uplifting.
There is a selfish reluctance to share this experience.
Resistance is useless: enjoy.

Really nice location by the sea , relaxing and peacefull small family run hotel.
Was disappointed to that there was not tea/coffee making facilities within the room and then to receive an extra £23.50 on the bill for 3 cups of tea each delivered to the room. The restaurant is Michelin star and we have eaten at 3 Michelin star hotels now and unfortunately this hotel was very limited as there was no choice on the menu just a chosen menu on that day and starter was oyster, main cod no choice of meat .
Would alos be nice to have some background music in the reataurant as it was small and you cul hear everybody else eating around you and chomping on their food.
The rooms however where lovely and clean and fresh crisp linen , with good sized bath tubs and fast running hot water.
The taxi ride into Portpatrick should cost approx £7 however we were charged £13 !! so ensure you check price before leaving hotel.
We had a reasonable deal for 2 nights but would not have thought paying the full price would have been value for money .
Overall it was an enjoyable stay and hope the hotel take note of the welcoming advice just to add a bit more customer satisfaction which i am sure the points would be revalidated by others.
