Tinto Hotel

We stayed at this hotel when attending a wedding nearby and it was OK. Rooms were clean and comfortable, if a bit old fashioned. The staff on the reception and bar were friendly enough.
However, the breakfast was a complete shambles. It is self service and the staff seemed to be completely unable or interested, on both mornings, to keep sufficient food available for paying guests. No bacon, fried eggs that had been left in the heaters for so long they were past edible, slow delivery of tea and toast...completely frustrating! How difficult can it be to organise breakfast?
If you want somewhere to put your head down for the night I have no problem in recommending the hotel. I would definitely steer clear of eating there though.

The hotel has recently changed ownership (I stayed there in May 08), so may improve in future. It currently has rather a run down feel to it - food poor, electrical system faulty (lights in my corridor fused, and then also in my room). Some staff were friendly and helpful, there is a large garden, with little streams and bridges, and some rather rickety seating.
Late rooms had charged me £90 per night for single occupancy of a room. The hotel itself charged less for single occupancy. I did not pay the hotel the amount Late Rooms had billed me for. This is an issue Late rooms needs to take up too (overcharging for single occupancy). I wouldn't book through Late Rooms again either!

This hotel has a happy atmosphere - the staff were genuinely friendly, there were may traditional features which gave real character, the breakfast was very good. I would like to stay there again, and have already recommended it!
