Best Western Crown Hotel Rotterdam

Th rrom was noisy from traffic/trams as it was at the front of the hotel

The rooms and bathrooms are clean but basic. I didn't appreciate having to iron my clothes on a public ironing board in the corridor. I would have called to ask reception if they had an iron and board I could use in my room but there was no room info in my room to give me the number I should call to contact reception. This also menat that at 1.30am I had to go down to reception in my nightclothes to ask reception for assistance in switching off the lights at the side of my bed, without me having to remove the key card from the wall as I wanted to leave my phone on charge - I wasn't majorly impressed.

This hotel is a good option for a short stay in Rotterdam. The hotel is clean and quiet, the beds are comfortable, the showers constant and the rooms are functional. Oevrall the quality is between 3 and 4 stars .
The location is also good being a 5 minute walk from the central station and approx 5-10mins to central area for shops/bars and resturants.
The hotel is let down by the reception staff. There seems to be approx 6-8 different that could greet you and it is about 50/50 that you will be served with a smile. There are all efficient but my impression is that they are doing you a favour by serving you. The breakfast is OK although the bread and pastries can be hit or miss (sometimes stale)
