The staff were all very attentive and friendly including the maid who came to turn down our bed. This was despite catching me watching Emmerdale. If I had one complaint it would be the pedestrian speed of the lift. However, this gave us time to admire the book collection in the lounge area and the art work in reception.

Great location, easy to get to and ideal for site seeing, very nice rooms - compact but idiosyncratic. If you're sick of Marriots this is ideal. Foods good, but if you want to really appreciate it the cooked breakfast is the best in London.

My only gripewas that the safe, which we were encouraged to use in the hotel literature, was on the highest shelf of the wardrobe and only accesible to those six feet and over !! I did comment to the staff about this issue. Breakfast was not good and very costly for the little amount we consumed.
