Excellent links to both A1 and M1. Recently refurbished we offer modern and contemporary facilities with friendly efficient service. We have not lost the character that have made us a destinationof choice for four centuries and at The Lion Hotel we believe that 'quality comes naturally.' 45 spacious and comfortable bedrooms with extras as standardsuch as fresh fruit and mineral water. Savannahs is fast becoming recognised as the best restaurant in town with great food and service and modern and contemporary ambience and decor. 114 The Inn Place is open all day offering an extensive menu and range of drinks and is ever popular with locals and hotel guests alike. Breakfast very tasty, only advice would be to tell guests how to get in after hours, and advise them where breakfast will be served! Otherwise generally good. Bed a bit lumpy, it was 2 single mattresses on a double divan.

Restaurant not well signed. Did not have an evening meal but did have breakfast. Prefer to have a buffet breakfast so able to choose how much of each food item I wanted. Had to order from a menu and then brought to your table, ordered poached egg but they were hard. Obviously some refurb work still in progress, but worried as we walked to our room, passed plasterboard wall, but our ground floor room was very good. Excellent and helpful staff.
