lovely location. comfortable lounge area. food was good. room very warm, we had an upgrade to a lake view room. only bad thing was that the double bed was uncomfortable. It dipped in the middle and felt 'small'. Also the bathroom wasn't as clean as I would have liked. would have liked more home comforts in the room such as bedside lamps and a full length mirror. Would stay there again. |

This hotel is right on the busy road between Windermere and Bowness so the rooms at the back are pleasanter with lake and mountain views. Parking is good and it is an easy downhill walk to the lake and amenities. The red theme of decor is very elegant and cosy- bathrooms modern. We enjoyed the breakfasts - am sure the dinner would be excellent but a bit pricey for us. |

A lovely family hotel, very clean, small room but it was only an overnight stay, bath as requested was excellent, breakfast was excellent and we will go back just to sample the evening meals. Staff were pleasant and helpful, no issues with booking in or out, very handy for a walk to the town, lounge bar very orderly and well kept, plenty selection of drinks. |

We had booked for bed, breakfast and evening meal, which was four courses. On reflection it would have been cheaper for us to book b&b and pay for the evening meal seperately as we could only manage two courses. The food was wonderful and the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. We had originally booked for two nights but actually booked a third night. The only down side of our stay was that we had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the road and because the weather was so hot we were not able to leave our window open during the night due to the noise of the traffic. We would certainly stay here again but would request a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the lake. |
