Our sense was that this was a great hotel about 4 years ago which has since slipped a bit. It just felt that they'd taken their eye off the ball a little bit and lost sight of the detail. The staff were very helpful and friendly when they were amending the mistakes but we were left with the sense that the mistakes shouldn't have been there in the first place, e.g. half of the lights in the room didn't work because there were no bulbs in, and the main toilets had framed reports saying how brilliant thy were and how many extras they offered, only they weren't there any more. I felt that they should either maintain their standards or stop advertising good things they don't do any more. The food was fine but only if you eat in the special offer, otherwise it would have felt dear. It was perfectly acceptable and fine but we wished we'd been there ficve years ago when it was all fresh and exciting and not a little past its best.
