Booked a table at reception as arrived late (20.30) didnt pass the message to the restaurant where I arrived at 21.15. They accomodated me but were not too enthusiastic, staff spent most of the time talking to each other in the kitchen. Due to being 'late' I only ordered a main course so as not to keep them back. When I got the bill was charged for the wrong item (more expensive), this was sorted once I queried it. For a hotel chain of this stature I would reccommend that they show the mission statement written on the room charge card to their staff as they must have never read it!. Room was fine, as I booked last minute the rate was OK but had I paid the standard rate I would have been grossly overcharged for the service. I was very dissapointed, the company name was one reason I chose it, I will check reports in future of other people staying and not rely on a brand name. Would now think twice about staying in any other hotels in the chain. On the whole a negative experience sadly. Please take note and action on this.

We were here for one night only (thank goodness) and, although the price was very good, we didn't like this hotel at all. The bathroom is outdated, tired and kind of dirty looking (dull green avocado suite). The bath was absolutely filthy and so we didn't use the shower. It looked as if it had been used for many, many showers, but never cleaned. If we hadn't been so tired, I think we'd have asked for another room. I reported the unclean bath to the receptionist before we left and she said she'd inform housekeeping (Room 212).
We asked for twin beds and that's what we were given, but they were joined together with one big sheet over the two beds, and one big duvet! However the bedlinen was spotless and the beds were cosy & comfortable.
Food was expensive, but maybe that's par for the course for the Ramada. If you're starving as we were, be prepared for a long, cold walk to reach the restaurant and bar. They can be reached by a series of doors and long cold draughty corridors - finally exiting the building to re-enter it again in the restaurant area.
As an aside, when we arrived at reception, a gentleman was complaining that his hospitality tray hadn't been replenished with tea, coffee, milk, sugar etc, nor the toiletries, towels, etc. He was quite annoyed by it all. I would imagine the best thing about the hotel was the spa and sports facilities, but we didn't use them. No - not for us - we like something with a bit more class and this hotel simply didn't have it.

Had food in room and was nice. Ramada J will not be a chain I will use again as over priced for the standard of room and mostly the state of the bathroom. It is obviously a problem across many as had this with one a few weeks ago, lesson learnt.
