This modern fully non-smoking hotel is located in the centre of Middlesbrough, just 5 minutes walk from the shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel offers 132 bedrooms including 12 Executive King Rooms plus 2 floors that have been recently refurbished. The whole hotel was completely re-built and re-styled after an investment of 8.5million pounds in April 2000.
It is an ideal location for exploring the North East, a walking holiday in the North Yorkshire Moors or the Cleveland Hills or even for a football game at the Riverside Stadium - the hotel is a short distance from the football club.
The hotel's Gengis restaurant offers an a la carte menu in contemporary surroundings and has recently been awarded a prestigious AA rosette. There is also the CoMotion Coffee bar offering light meals and a selection of hot and cold drinks. In addition, the hotel offers the Otium Health and Leisure club which includes a gym, 11 metre swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and a beauty therapist.

Road: From North or South take the A19 and then follow signs to Middlesbrough (A66). On A66 take 3rd exit just past Zetland car park, signposted Middlesbrough town centre. At roundabout take 3rd exit to mini roundabout. Take 1st exit, follow road round to the right, take 1st right onto Fry Street. Follow road, park in Thistle car park on left where there are 65 spaces available at a nominal charge. Middlesbrough rail station is 0.25 miles away. Durham Tees Valley Airport is 13 miles away.

There are alot cheaper hotels in Middlesbrough with larger, nicer rooms. You have to pay extra for the internet too.
The best thing about the hotel is the fact that it's walking distance from the train station!

Excellent value for money, well situated, easy access and secure parking. The dinner was very well prepared and tasty.

Only negative comment would be that despite making a reservation for the restaurant at check in I was turned away upon arrival at the restaurant to dine because they were too busy! I can not believe that a hotel restaurant was not geared to cope with requests from hotel guests at 9pm at night!
