This modern 137-bedroom hotel is ideally situated just minutes from junction 23 of the M6 within a mile of Haydock Park Racecourse and in the heart of the North West of England.From a distance it could be mistaken for a Georgian mansion and is set in attractive gardens with ample free parking.The amenities include suites, restaurant, bar, lounge, business centre and an Otium Leisure Club complete with swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and workout room. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HOTEL HAS A MARQUEE AND WHEN IN USE THEIR CAN BE NOISE UNTIL 12:30AM
The Hotel Restaurant will be unavailable on the following dates 29/11/08, 05/12/08, 06/12/08, 12/12/08, 13/12/08, 19/12/08, 20/12/08 22/12/08, 23/12/08 and 31/12/08 this is due to Christmas functions. The Bistro will be available as usual.

There are 170 car parking spaces available at no charge.Railway and the TubeWigan rail station is 7 miles away.AirManchester International Airport is 18 miles away, approximately £35 by taxi. Exit the airport straight onto the M56. Leave the M56, signposted M6 North (Preston). Exit M6 junction 23.

Value for money on Late Rooms discount, not sure full price is such good value. Still being refurbished, my room good as had already been done.

The room was cold, by morning the heating had still not achieved above 14C (according to thermostat), shower was not very hot, remote control for TV not working well. When two of these were reported to the staff, their attitude at best would be described as indifferent.

the room was basic for the amount of money thay charge for full price, if i had paid the full 170.00 standard room i would have been very disapointed.
they leisure facilities were small but a perk of the hotel.
there was mould round the bath , 2 of the room swipe cards did not work and a cleaner had to help us in. the bathroom light flickered and the tv was old and bulky.
only limited tea and coffee facilities available and the walls were thin so could hear next door

Excellent hotel with good facilities. Rooms a good standard and generously sized. The only fault that I have is that the heating in the room was poor (ducted heating no radiators). This wasn't helped by the windows which didn't seem to shut too well. This left the room very cold
