Exit at Gilmerton Junction and follow the road signs for Eskbank. The gates to Melville Castle will appear on your right hand side about 1km from the bypass slip road.From the North West on bypass (A720)Approach the Sherriff Hall roundabout. Take the exit for Galashiels, Dobbies Garden Centre. First roundabout that you come to turn left Melville Castle is the first opening on the right.

Hotel was ok. single room was very single. Bathroom kitted out for disabled person and very industrial. Hand basin tiny and difficult for shaving. Air freshneshners plugged in every where - not good for people sensitive to chemicals.

Booked at the last minute for group of friends/relatives. Great location,lovely rooms and very helpful staff. Will definitely return.
