Very friendly, welcoming & hepful staff. We booked in early and this presented no problems. The 'Highlands' room was very atmospheric, a pleasant change from the standard modern hotel room. The en suite was tight for space. Using the wash basin was not easy as the toilet bowl was in the way. The roof space clearly dictates what can be done but a rethink of the layout would enhance this facility. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to precisely the time requested. Breakfast would have been even better if the catering type sausages were replaced by a local butchers variety. We used the restaurant in the evening and that too was very good for food quality and value. A very pleasant stopover on our way to Wales. |

The parking in the area was very poor the hotel had no privare parking at all. The ambience of the hotel was more like an average guest house and not an hotel with four stars. The room was clean but not large and the bathroom , sorry shower room , was so compact it made it difficult to get in a position to be able to shave. The four poster bed which appeared to be home made was comfortable and as I said the room was clean. The breakfast however was to a very high standard and to a large extent made up for the other disappointments. |
