The restaurant looked fantastic. However we could not dine in the evening as no t shirts or trainers were permitted. The hotel dress cxode should be stated on the web page.

The hotel was quite scruffy in appearance from outside although once inside the public areas were fairly impressive with the exception of the lift. The room, whilst a little old fasioned, was excellent in size, appointment and position (more like a junior suite) with a super balcony and spectacular sea views. The dining room at breakfast time offered impressive 180' views of Torbay but the hot side of the buffet was very dissapointing and poor in quality. All in all, the hotel offered a welcome, comfortable and good value stay for the short time we were there (18hrs). Parking on site is chargeable (£7 per day) which I find unnecessary and penny pinching.

Due to my wife's illness we enjoy room service, at this hotel the quality of food was diabolical, the Manager did try to compensate us but in trying to get even a room service menu for breakfast in our room she had difficulty [ this was ommitted by the cleaner each day despite requests] the meals we eat for dinner were undercooked or cold and it was easy to see how the hotel had been down graded from 5 star to 4 star since Spanish ownership. £6.50 -£8.50 for a glass of wine and really more concerned in functions than residents.
