Aldwark Manor is a splendid Victorian Manor house set in acres of natural park land, with the River Ure meandering through the grounds. The hotel has a modern bedroom, conference and restaurant extension blending harmoniously with the existing Manor building. There is a fine restaurant at Aldwark Manor (dress code applies), which has been awarded 2 AA rosettes, as well as an informal bistro style bar restaurant and a comfortable bar lounge. For those fine days, Aldwark Manor has a terrace patio overlooking the golf course outside the main bar and there are comfortable lounge areas for you to relax in. Aldwark Manor boasts some of the most picturesque golf scenery in the country. The challenging 18 hole golf course surrounding the hotel is almost 6,500 yards long and is bordered by ancient oak and beech trees, offering an idyllic location for a round of golf. To relax and revitalise, the hotel has the Reflections Spa and Leisure with luxurious facilities, including indoor heated pool, spa, steam room, upright solarium, gymnasium, drench showers, relaxation lounge and Spa offering a wide choice of pampering treatments. Location very rural- and we felt a bit too isolated.

This was my second time staying at Aldwark Manor and can say it did not disappoint, the staff and facilities are outstanding. My previous stay was over the weekend in February, this stay was during the week in november. My only critisism over the weekend would be the hot breakfast food did run out and we did have to wait for fresh food to arrive. This did not happen during the week as it was much quieter. I would definately recommend Aldwark Manor to a friend, and I hope to return myself sometime in the near future.

The leaking toilet was never fixed with no offer of another room. When I went to pay the bill, a host of other bills had been charged to my room (some £300 worth). It was eventually dealt with, but it took half an hour to resorve and, finally, check out!

As on previous occaisions, I had a very enjoyable stay. The room was excellent, welcome was friendly and chatty, all the staff are very convivial, and you struggle to pass any member of staff without them saying hello, good morning, good evening and the like. Food was delicious and creative, and the Maitre D' wine choice was informed and on the mark. Can't fault this hotel, stay here every time I am in the area.
