Overlooking the West Links Golf Course and the Firth of Forth the hotel is situated just half an hour from Edinburgh. The Macdonald Marine Hotel & Spa has recently undergone a multi million pound refurbishment returning the hotel to its former glory! This Victorian building is located at the heart of East Lothian's golfing coast. The hotel overlooks the North Berwick Championship Golf Course as well as Firth of Forth. With the addition of a magnificent Spa, with an 18-metre pool, the hotel will be the natural choice for golf and leisure guests.The well proportioned public areas and many of the bedrooms enjoy the spectacular view. The bedrooms come in a variety of sizes, some are impressively large. The Craigleith Restaurant offers a mix of Scottish and International cuisine, whilst the Links Bar and Sea View Lounge serves a range of light meals throughout the day.

Very much enjoyed my stay, beautiful location. Room comfortable, clean and cozy, staff very attentive . Loved the Spa, fantastic facilities and will book again in 2009!

Lovely old hotel with log fire in reception. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Gym and pool clean and had excellant facilities. The only problem I found was that the bathroom was very small and you could only just squeeze in past the door and washbasin and the extractor and heated towel rail didn't work otherwise it was a lovely hotel to visit.

The check in at the hotel was first class and, although we did not have our evening meal in the hotel, we had breakfast. The food was excellent and the service of the staff in the restaurant was absolutely fantastic. They were helpful, pleasant and showed a high degree of efficiency. Our room was also very pleasant indeed. We would certainly have no hesitation in staying at the Macdonald Marine Hotel in North Berwick.

the double beds were small being standard doubles and the mattresses very hard
