First impressions of the hotel are good. Impressive entrance, beautiful, stylish public area's. The room we were staying in (8) was classed as a luxury room in the recently added new building ajoining the older hotel. The room was lovely, front facing over the water, spacious, modern but within keeping of the hotel. The en-suite was big enough but for a new build the finishes were not good. Bits of tiles flaking off the walls, the down lights stopped at the sink area so the bath/shower area was quite dark. The main problem we had was the walls of the new build are so thin, when the ajoining room's occupants, who,s bathroom was situated on our bedroom wall had a shower/bath and used the toilet, every little detail could be heard! Even full, not muffled conversations of the poor unexpecting users! We made staff aware of the problem and were dumbfounded that no-one else had mentioned this to them before. Personally i think they could leave the "free" carafe of sherry in the bar and invest in some soundproofing. I do not think the prices they are charging for their rooms are worth the money. To end on a high note, the service, food and friendliness of the place shone. |

The hotel was easy to find and overall was delightful. The room had not been checked properly as several lightbulbs did not work and no milk was available in the butlers pantry, even though we were told there was! Staff were excellent. |

Staff very welcoming and friendly, nice relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast was lovely served in great surroundings. The room was ok but very dissapointed by the view, we were expecting a side view of the loch or castle as advertised but ended up with a view of a building site! Other rooms probably have much better views! |
