Speedbird Inn

The hotel is clean and good value for money in Aberden's over-priced hotel market. The location is great for the airport and heli-ports (especially Bristows & Scotia). My major problem was internet access. The standard room has free wi-fi access but the signal is so poor in most of the hotel it is literally impossible to even check e-mails. I had suffered this before so I paid extra and got a 'superior room' which is advertised as having an internet socket in the room, the socket was there but not seemingly wired up to anything though. If you do manage to get a fleeting connection to the internet on the wi-fi you will find that the network has filters set up so you can not for instance play on-line poker. This is probably just as well because having the connection drop out every 5 minutes while playing poker would be very annoying.
This is a good value hotel if you want to stay near the airport but if internet is importatnt to your stay the steer clear.

Arrived in early afternoon - jet lagged. Hotel bus did not ususally run at this time but was sent down for me. Was able to check in straight away well before 2.00pm - really appreciated this.
Faulty shower promptly dealt with.

Glad it is non smoking. Pity about the Tuna it had to go back!!
