This is the 4th time i have stayed here in the past year, now new owners, but little change, still very welcoming, rooms basic but very good value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful, great bar, and good restaurant. As business man traveling alone its great to be welcomed and talked to by the owners and locals which makes for a very enjoyable evening. Will always try and stay here whenever in this part of the country.

I arrived at the pub bar (which serves as a reception desk) and was pointed (not shown to) a room across the courtyard. The room was cramped. There was no light-bulb in the main fitting, and the bedside lamp didn't work, so the room was in darkness. I went back to the pub to point this out. I was offered another room. This time the lights worked, but the TV didn't. So I went back to the pub again, and was shown to a third room, where everything was in order. Each time I had to wait as the staff were also working the bar, meaning it took me over half an hour between arriving and getting into my room. Good job I'm patient , or I'd have been out of there. Good job I was the only person staying there that night, or I wouldn't have had a room. Good job I don't have access issues, as two of the rooms were up steep metal steps. I won't be back.
