The hotel was clean and the staff were pleasant however the room was very dated and had no aircon. The room was really hot and the bed was really lumpy - not a good nights sleep.

Only had time to sleep there for one night, but beautiful olde worlde hotel in excellent position if staying in Harrogate. Would like to have had longer as Harrogate seemed very nice for the short time we were there.

When we checked in we were given a room that was not made up...and this was at 4pm! The receptionist apologised and offered us another room. This room was small and the bathroom was very cramped. The hotel looked quite nice however it seemed full of OAPs on a coach trip. Breakfast was £15 per head so we skipped this. We didn't sleep well and the room was so hot.We switched the radiator off but the pipes running around the skirting board remained boiling hot and we were very uncomfortable during the night. Good location and very close to the centre of Harrogate

It is a large old hotel, with an atmosphere of past glory. We enjoyed our stay there, though essentially all we did was use the hotel as a base. There room we had was supposedly discounted from £148 to £68; we would have asked for a change of room if we had paid the full price, since it was small and poorly fitted out. It is ideally placed near the centre of Harrogate and in the main we have no real criticisms of the hotel, apart from our relatively small room. There are a number of other hotels in the centre and if we return to Harrogate we would probably try another, just for comparison.

We booked the hotel at the last minute using Late rooms, and paid £68 for a double room. We booked the room for a Sunday Evening, and my partner and I just wanted a night from home to chill out.
First impressions of the Hotel are wonderful. It is set in it's own gardens, and has parking facilities. This is a bonus, as the Hotel is in a fantastic location close to the Town centre. A wide variety of Bars & Restaurants are close to hand, and quite literally a few minutes walk.
Reception staff were courteous on arrival, as were the Bar staff in the lounge. The general cleanliness of reception and the ground floor were fine, and the bar area was tidy, a bonus considering there was a civil ceremony taking part.
The room wasn't very spacious, but was ample for our needs. It had everything you may need from double wardrobe, dressing table, Tv to tea and coffee making facilities including biscuits. The bathroom contained a large bath with shower and complimentary soap shampoo etc. Plenty of clean towels, and the cleanliness of the room was as expected of a four star hotel. The Tv was to the left of the bed, so if you wanted to watch it in bed, you had to crane your kneck over your partner to view what was on screen. Channels included Terestrial channels, Sky Sports but no movies. The view from the room was not spectacular, but over looked a lawn area to the rear of the hotel.
The temperature of the room??? on arrival was fine, but during the night it was sweltering, and the radiators were switched off, which leads me to think that hot water pipes run under the rooms to the rear of the Hotel.
I can't pass comment about the Restaurant, as we were away very early, so we didn;t have breakfast. £68 was the tarrif for room only.
The Hotel is an Old building, and this adds to the charm of the place. would I stay there again? Yes I think so? Apart from the temperature of the room in the middle of the night, we were satisfied with Hotel.
Plus points : - Parking and fantastic location for the Centre of Town
