I made a late booking and got a really good price for this hotel, I'm not usually fussy so was prepared to take it as it came
From outside it is a typical pub/ restaurant hotel complex. The room had a proper metal key and not those horrible plastic cards which only work on the 45th swipe. I was expecting the usual bland corporate decor indoors, but once inside the room it actually felt very comfortable and homey, and although very clean it had no hint of that aggressive disinfectant feeling you sometimes get. I slept with the window open and the fine warm July night was a little bit spoilt by the noise of traffic on the Bath Road but the bed was soft, clean linen, and superbly comfortable so I slept very well anyway
Beware, cooked breakfast finishes at 9.00 sharp, and the 9.30 I was told applies to continental only.

Needed money spent on it. No remote for the TV. Group of very noisey drinkers sitting outside till late. No menus etc in the room
