A family home for over 200 years, retaining the essential warmth and character from days of old, Egerton House Hotel stands in acres of leafy gardens. It is a delightful retreat three miles away from Bolton, on the doorstep of the West Pennine Moors.With beautiful views of the grounds and a cosy open fire in the lounge it is the perfect place to just relax after a long day at the office, on the road or visiting the local attractions and shops.The AA rosette award winning Gardens Restaurant overlooks the grounds and offers a menu which never fails to delight residents and locals alike. The Chef is well known for his superb table d'hôte and à la carte creations. The excellent wine list at Egerton House does full justice to the quality of the food.
The bedrooms offer the highest in standards and comfort and are all individual in style and design. All rooms are fully equipped with modern appliances and requirements for todays discerning traveller including tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV and trouser press. The Superior rooms all have beautiful views of the gardens.

By Road: FROM THE NORTH: Exit at Junction 29 of the M6 onto the M65, exit Junction 4 onto the A666 through Darwen to Egerton the hotel is situated on the left hand side (look out for the Georgian Gatehouse). FROM THE SOUTH: Exit Junction 3 of the M61 onto the A666. Stay on the A666 and Egerton House is approximately three miles north of the town centre on the right hand side (look out for the Georgian Gatehouse). FROM THE EAST: Leave the M62 at J18 straight ahead into M60 anticlockwise. Leave M60 at Swinton interchange straight ahead into M61 towards Bolton. Leave the M61 straight ahead into A666, signed Bolton, then A666 signed Blackburn. By Rail: Bromley Cross is 1 mile away and Bolton Town centre is approximately three miles.Preston Station is approximately 15 miles.By AirManchester Airport is approximately 35 minutes drive.

I stay in this hotel often and would recommend it to anyone.The rooms are of a good standard ,the stall are always helpful and polite, and the standard of food is awlways vey good.

This hotel is in a very nice location and the staff are very freindly. However, the first and second floor rooms stunk of cat litter and breakfast was refried residue. The scrambled eggs were out of a packet. Very dissapointing for the price we paid.

I had not stayed at this hotel since the mid eighties and wondered if it would still be the same.I was not disappointed,finding the same friendly service in a lovely house which has been modernised so tastefully.Really is an excellent,peaceful and comfortable hotel.
