Hotel has contemporary relaxed style. An excellent base for exploring Dublins galleries, walking, bars/pubs & markets. Hotel very central right in the heart of city but quiet enough for chilling out & rest. Staff very helpful & informed. Hotel reflects what Dublin is as a city; stylish & quietly cool. |

Main benefit of staying at the Fitzwiliam was the location, right at the top of Grafton Street. So easy for exploring Dublin. Efficient but welcoming staff at all levels, particularly impressive the concierge services. Contemporary room and fantastic bathroom. Both the bath and power shower were state of the art and bathing was really luxurious with fluffy robes and deep piled towels. Rate for room was room only and cost of breakfast at hotel very expensive for our group of 4 - it would have cost 100 euros for breakfast alone so we ate outside the hotel. Bar in the hotel good atmosphere and fun. |

The room booked was described as an Executive Room which lead us to believe that it would be bigger than a standard room. However it appears that a standard room at this hotel is called an Executive room and it was very small and very basic for the money. We mentioned this to the reservations manager who very kindly upgraded us free of charge to a superior room which in fact was what I would describe as a standard room. All the staff were good except the Polish consierge who sent us to the railway station to catch a train to Maynooth - when we got to the station the customer services manager told us that trains don't go to Maynooth and we would have to catch a bus - we wasted 10 Euros on a taxi trip to the station. Hotels should really have consierge services from local people. Have stayed in better 5* hotels in Dublin and have got better rates but the location of this hotel is superb, |
