Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port/Cheshire Oaks

spotlessly clean, large family room, great carvery Friday which my son's loved. nice, tho small pool, sons (10,8) loved it and were asking when we could go back before we left.

Hotel was a Holiday Inn virtually the same wherever in the world you are!! However before we went I read reviews regarding the parking which concerned me, however the extra parking is over a very small bridge within the grounds and no less safe than the rest of the car park. The views over the old docks, and subsequent museum were a lovely suprise.
When booking out I was charged an extra £5 for the internet use, I did not even have a computer with me! I complained and was given a new bill, howver when I received my visa bill a few weeks later the £5 charge was stillon!! It has cost me more in phone calls to the hotel than the charge, but the principle is there!! Be warned of extra charges added that were not used at this hotel, I have never had this happen in other Holiday Inns and supose it is a great con if you can get away with charging internet use for every of the 350 rooms,whether used or not!!! Still enjoyed the saty and hotel though.

Lovely hotel in a good setting overlooking the waterways. The children liked seeing the boats, ducks etc. Very good location for those visiting the zoo & aquarium. We didn't have an evening meal in the hotel but the breakfast was really nice and the staff were lovely too. The good news was that the bar prices were very reasonable too! The swimming pool and sauna were nice but quite basic (no jacuzzi, steam room etc) and the changing rooms were quite small. The hotel room was a good size with 2 kingsize beds in each and were a good standard. We would definately stay at this hotel again.

Nice hotel, good location for family visits to Blue Planet and Chester Zoo, only problem was the rooms were incredibily warm, even with the air con on max! Heard other guests complaining as well so be aware and make sure your window opens....
