Its 21 years since we opened the Old Schoolhouse Inn and many a memorable and enjoyable meal has been had in our award winning restaurant since then. Some 10 years ago we opened our hostelry to guests from near and far, greeting them and inviting them to stay in our excellent accommodation. A friendly face, a good meal and a comfortable bed for the night, just the ingredients required for the businessman and weary traveller alike to enjoy their stay with us. A little piece of heaven situated by the shores of Strangford Lough. Situated at Castle Espie, beside the beautiful scenery of Strangford Lough the Old Schoolhouse Inn is a superb place to stay, relax and enjoy your stay in Northern Ireland.

The Gourmet restaurant was shut for the week - disappointing as this was a main reason for choosing this hotel. We had to drive around to find somewhere to eat which proved difficult. We also thought that the price was a bit on the high side. The place needed some maintenance, especially the plumbing in the bathroom. The food at breakfast was v good and the service friendly however.

THIS is - not - a hotel its a b & B but realy nice only stayed a few hours overnight .. great B & B one of the best .... I would go back

Excellent! The staff were extremely helpful, and even suggested things for us to do & places to go. The breakfasts were superb, and when we ate in the restaurant we could not fault the meal. We will certainly return to this hotel.
