The food at the hotel was excellent. The location was opposite the railway station which was noisy. The cleanliness of the room was not quite as good as I would have liked. Generally the staff were friendly but the reception staff could have been a lot more pro active in their customer service skills.

very shabby outdated rooms, no ceiling in shower, very small dressing table mirror and 70's TV. noisy workmen. poor parking facilities for £8 per overnight stay. not worth £90 a night. BUT restraunt food great, be sure to take advantage of the free bottle of wine!

Room was okay but old-fashioned and some mould on the bathroom ceiling. Staff were friendly and helpful; the hotel is very conveniently located near the train station (across the street) and the town centre (5 min's walk). Breakfast was absolutely delicious and copious, with both a continental buffet and cooked breakfast a la carte included in the room rate.

The room was shabby and unclean. Each day we left damp towels folded on the end of the bed and they were not replaced . This was reported to reception on Tuesday evening before we went out and were still there when we returned later that evening. The same thing happened on Wednesday. Requests for a bath mat were not answered.

The hotel was very easy to find and they have their own parking spaces at a reasonable cost. The hotel was centrally located. All staff were very polite and helpful.
Unfortunately we had to change rooms. The family room we were allocated was quite dingy with one window and furnishings such as the pelmet on the bed were quite grubby. The cot was placed in front of the television making it impossible for us to turn on when baby went to sleep. There were also plugs and messy wires underneath which need to be kept out of babys way.
When we asked if we could change rooms, the staff were really accomodating. They immediately put us in a superior room (at a reduced rate, but still more than the family room price.)
This was well furnished with three large windows and a four poster bed plus a bath (ideal for baby) and a nice corner place to put the cot. If this room hadn't been available, I would have felt that the trip would have been a disaster as you have to spend more time in your hotel room with a baby.
