The hotel is located right in the heart of the Potteries and just 20 minutes drive from Alton Towers. This Elizabethan & Jacobean designed hotel is a truly elegant and intimate. All 88 en-suite bedrooms are pleasantly decorated and offer modern facilities including TV, Telephone, Hairdryer and Tea and Coffee making facilities. Dine in the Six Town’s restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The bars, Clayhanger bar and Winton Suite Lounge are open till late and offer a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. There are nine conference rooms catering for up to 400 people with first class facilities. WIFI is free to all guests and is available in all public areas of the hotel.

Although we got a good deal, I would have been really disappointed if I had paid any more as the room was pretty grotty. Old fashioned decor and unclean. Supposedly ensuite but the sink was in the bedroom and the bathroom was not nice at all (musty smell and could have done with a re-fit). It was suppos ed to be a superior room but I would not have called it that. The location was pretty awful as well with no nice cafes or pubs around. The only nice thing was that the breakfast wasn't too bad!! I would not stay there again.

The hotel seemed to be a bit shabby, dirty and dated. It was hard to get served at the bar sometimes as there was not always someone behind it to serve you. On the first night we sat down with a drink and the fire alarm went off so were outside for a good 40 mins in the rain with no explanation.

Food and customer service was great, Really recommend paying extra for the breakfast. Room wasn't the best room that I have stayed in, bed was very squeaky and shower would not stop dripping which didn't help when you were sleeping. But overall would definately stay here again, as really easy access to Alton Towers.

The Restaurant service was just alright, there was a minimum of staff available. everything was clean and tidy but very little atmosphere.
