Good reception service willing and attentive. Hotel has been refurbished but still requires attention. Leasure facilities distant from room and therefore remote and although all facilities are there the environment was a little cold and was not relaxing.

Helpful staff, a clean room if a little "functional", ie clearly a business hotel rather than aimed at private stayers.
Spa facilities are excellent, but very busy from local use so book ahead.
Very nice location, grounds etc.
Good location for getting into Shrewsbury.

Superb parkland setting, room was spacious and pleasant. However, problems with the TV - the remote did not work for us, and there was a poor selection of channels for an upmarket Hotel. Also the bath surround was discoloured and had seen better days, and the drains smelt initially. The cleanliness of the the external window also left a bit to be desired. So probably some `handyman' cleaning required. On the plus side the pool in the Leisure complex was much appreciated. There were also quite a few Helicopters around from the local RAF base, but not at night.

We thoroughly enjoyed the spa facilities - although the pool was slightly smaller than we'd imagined, but lovely and warm.
The room was nicely decorated, more than big enough, but not very clean - e.g.: cup and saucer marked / badly washed; toilet seat / bathroom in general not up to standards and unpleasant grouting on the bathroom wall.
The room wasn't ready until 3pm although our booking stated that check-in was from 2pm. The corridors were full of dirty laundry till 4pm but we got into our room for 3pm.
We do think that this might also have been due to the fact that they were probably very busy on Saturday night, but that's no real excuse.
The corridors could also do with a bit of a lick of paint, we got the feeling that the hotel is on its way down, but probably used to be great.
The grounds are lovely though, although not quite as big as we'd imagined from the website.
