Hotel is in lovely location, the room was large but not clean and the access corridor to our courtyard room was littered with cigarette ends. Booked in mid day, returned at 9.45pm to find the Hotel locked up and in darkness, bar and restaurant closed, we had not beened warned that they were closing early. Breakfast was abmismal, instant coffee pretending to be real, proper coffee or tea extra cost. The Continental breakfast, included, consisted of "cotton wool" toast and processed cheese probably the worst hotel food I have ever been exposed to. We know The George of old having been associated with the village for a long time, iit used to be great, but in its current form I could not recommend it to anyone, lack of investment in decor and penny pinching attitude of mangement mean it is a dismal place to stay. |

The village was beautiful and lodging was excellent .. Good Food, friendly faces and value for money, all in all a very pleasant stay, albeit very brief as I was on business. The room was comfortable and bathroom of a good size. The only drawback would be the lack of air conditioning ... but HEY ... this place is more than 500 years old and makes up for it with character! |
